1948 Dynamic Sixty and Seventy Series

Dynamic Sixty Series

This year Olds dropped the Special series designation and tagged both the former Special and 70 series cars as Dynamics. The 60 series Dynamics were, physically, the smallest Oldsmobiles in 1948, but offered the greatest variety of body styles. Either six or eight cylinder power could be fitted, and the car became a 66 or 68 depending upon engine selection. Standard 60 series equipment included dual horns, dual sunvisors and a cigarette lighter. Standard tires were 6.00 x 16.

The DeLuxe equipment package included the standard items plus foam rubber seat cushions, DeLuxe steering wheel, DeLuxe instrument cluster, clock, chrome wheel trim rings and 7.60 x 15 tires. Upholstery was Bedford cord or broadcloth.

Dynamic Seventy Series

Again this year, the middle Olds series was restricted to just two cars of fastback design. Standard equipment for the 70 series included front and rear bumper guards, vacuum booster pump, dual sunvisors, cigarette lighter and plastic radiator ornament. Standard tire size was 6.50 x 16 inches.

DeLuxe equipment included wider door trim, foam rubber seat cushions, special steering wheel, DeLuxe instrument cluster, electric clock, rear seat arm rest, chrome wheel trim rings and 7.60 x 15 tires. Upholstery was broadcloth or Bedford cord.
