1969 Cadillac Ads

In 1969 all Cadillacs was restyled in the Eldorado image. An Eldorado-like front fender treatment helped to emphasize a stronger horizontal design line. Rear quarters were extended to give the car a longer look. There was an all new grille with dual horizontal headlamps positioned in the outboard step down areas of the grille. The hood was extended a total of 2.5 inches. The roofline was squarer and the rear deck and bumper more sculptured. A new ventilation system eliminated the need for vent windows. New standard features included front and rear (except on convertibles) center seat armrests.

The two Sixty Special models had distinct rooflines from the other Cadillacs. Sixty Special Brougham included a vinyl roof  (available in six colors), as well as rear-seat foot rests and an automatic level control for the rear wheels. For the Eldorado, the hidden headlamps were eliminated, and a halo vinyl roof was available as an option, joined later in the year by a power sunroof. The 375 HP 472 CID V8 engine was carried over from 1968.

Production dropped slightly for 1969 down to 223,237 from 1968's 230,003, with majority of the reduction in the lower-priced Calais.

The entire Cadillac line had styling that mimicked the Eldorado, shown her, which lost its hidden headlights.
