1969 Mercury Comet/Montego/Cyclone Ads

In 1969, like 1968, Mercury's mid-sized models consisted of the base Comet available only as a 2-door coupe, the Montego, and the Montego MX. However, the the top-of-the-line mid-sized models continued to use the Cyclone and Cyclone GT names.

For the 1969 model year, the grille was modified and the headlight surrounds were removed. The taillights were also slightly re-styled. There would be few changes to Mercury's mid-sized lineup for the 1969 model year, and the last year that the Comet name would grace a mid-sized model. New top-of-the-line Cyclone Spoiler and Cyclone CJ models would join the lineup.

A 250 CID inline-6 with 155 HP was the base engine except in the Cyclone line. A 302 CID V-8 with 220 HP was an option (standard on the Cyclone), a 351 CID V-8 with 290 HP was standard on the Cyclone Spoiler, and a 428 CID V-8  with 335 HP was standard on the Cyclone CJ. These new 428 CID V-8s replaced the previous 390 CID V-8s.

Total Production for 1969 was 115,944.
