For the 1971 model year, the base Skylark was available only with the inline-6, now only putting out 145 hp due to emission control devices. The Skylark 350 had a 350 CID V8 engine that delivered 230 hp. The upscale model was now available as a two-door sedan in addition to the two-door hardtop coupe and four-door sedan. Total Skylark production was 183,381 including 9,170 GS models.
