1968 Ford Torino Ads

Ford dramatically changed the Fairlane's styling for 1968 and to hammer the point home, changed the car's name to "Torino".

To make sure that the public knew that the car was a Ford, they embarked on an extensive ad campaign in all publications, in both single and two page ads.

1968 was a banner year for Ford's new midsize car. Restyling hit a chord with the consumer, and Ford's ad campaigns seemed to resonate. The new fastback two-door Torino GT (there was a traditional hardtop too) accounted for the majority of the increase, selling 103,384 units.

This boosted Fairlane/Torino sales from 256,931 to 388,499 - a 131,568 increase!
