1965 Chevelle Ads |
|||||
By 1965 the new GM A-body was well established and Chevrolet had a winner with the Chevelle hardtop. Of course, like all Chevy front engine, rear wheel drive cars, a SS (Super Sport) model was offered. In 1965, the big dog was the 350 HP 327 Small Block borrowed from the Corvette. Toward the end of the year, the 396 big block would be announced, and a few 396 375 HP cars would "leak" out of the factory. But in the main, in 1965 if you wanted a fast SS Chevelle, the 'Vette engined version was your top option.
