1950 Studebaker Advertisements

A "Bullet-nose" front end and rear fenders that supported vertical taillights were new for 1950. The central body section was unchanged. Available body types were the same as 1949. The model identification was on the front fenders. There was no hood ornament on Custom models. Stainless steel rocker panel moldings were standard on Regal DeLuxe models.  Small headlight trim rings were used on Champions. Starting in mid-year, these rings were chrome plated on DeLuxe and Regal DeLuxe trim lines. A low priced Custom model was introduced during mid-year. The Commander's front fenders and headlight trim rings were much larger than on Champions.

A new Automatic Drive was introduced as an option during mid-year. A coil spring and A-arm front suspension system replaced the former planar cross leaf spring independent front suspension system.

An increasing buyers' market reduced prices from 1949 and during the year they were reduced again.  Production for 1950: Champion - 270,604, Commander - 47,848, Land Cruiser - 24,712, Total - 343,164.
