1972 Pontiac Firebird Ads |
|||||
The '72 UAW strike affected the Norwood, OH assembly plant, which produced Firebirds and Camaros. As a result, the yearly output of Firebirds was severely reduced this model year. Since the Firebird was completely redesigned only two years ago, the changes for 1972 were of a very minor nature. The fender louvers from '71 were dropped and the radiator grille texture was modified to a hex pattern in place of the rectangular shape used in '70 and '71. Firebird (base) production total: 12,000 Firebird Esprit production total: 11,415 Firebird Formula production total: 5,250 Firebird Trans Am production total: 1,286 Firebird production total: 29,951 Pontiac production total: 706,978 |
