1963 Corvair Ads |

Corvair was very established as a brand among the Chevrolet offerings by 1963. Styling, however, was becoming a bit dated as the look was in its 4th year - at a time when many models offered new sheet metal annually. As a result, sales began to decline, with 1963 totals 267,978 versus 310,493 for 1962. Surprisingly, the Monza Spyder (the performance version) had a huge jump in sales from 9,468 to 19,299 for 1963, showing that in the 60's, performance sold.
