1954 Chrysler Ads

The 1954 New Yorker was the premium version of a standard 1950s Chryslers. Chrysler's New Yorker was now powered by the popular Firepower Hemi V8. The New Yorker was priced a little more affordably, at $3,230 for the standard and $3,400 for the DeLuxe. The standard model had 2-barrel, 195 HP Hemi while the DeLuxe used the 4-barrel carbureted 235 hp version.

All 1954 New Yorkers were available with the new two speed Powerflite automatic transmission. Fluid Torque Drive and Fluid Matic were dropped. 1954 was the last year of the long wheelbase (139.5") sedan, leaving that field to the Imperial line.

Production for the New Yorker in 1954 was 54,697.
