1964 VW Karmann Ghia Ads |
|||||
The Type 14 Karmann Ghia was an immediate hit with VW aficianados and others looking for a relaible, sporty and cool looking car. Exterior changes started in 1961, and included wider and finned front grilles, taller and more rounded rear taillights and headlights relocated to a higher position. The pre-1961 models and their lower headlight placement called "lowlights" by collectors. The Italian designer Sergio Sartorelli, designer of the later Type 34, oversaw the various restyles of Type 14 during its life from 1955-1974 (1975 in Brazil). |
