1957 BMW Isetta Ads |
|||||
The first BMW Isetta appeared in April 1955. BMW made the Italian Isetta its own. They redesigned the powerplant around a BMW one-cylinder, four-stroke, 247 cc motorcycle engine which generated 13 HP. Although the major elements of the Italian design remained intact, BMW re-engineered so much of the car that none of the parts are interchangeable between a BMW Isetta Moto Coupe and an Iso Isetta. Production of the first series - 1955*57 was 26.646. The Automotive History Preservation Society Digital Documents Library provides these materials for educational, or research, or personal use.
