1962 Cadillac Ads

A mild face lift characterized Cadillac for 1962. A flatter grille with a thicker horizontal center bar and a more delicate cross-hatched insert was featured. Cornering lamps  replaced the ribbed chrome trim panel placed ahead of the front wheel housings. Front fender model and series identification badges were eliminated. The more massive front bumper end pieces housed rectangular parking lamps. "Cadillac" in script also appeared on the lower left side of the grille. At the rear, tail lamps were now set in the vertical nacelles. A vertically ribbed rear beauty panel appeared on the deck lid latch panel.

The short-deck hardtop Town Sedan was moved from the De Ville series to the Series 6200, and was replaced by a short-deck Park Avenue. All short deck Cadillac models went from being 6-window sedans to 4-window sedans.

Production for 1962 increased to 160,840 from 1961's 138,374, with the bulk of the increase in the De Ville line.
