1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass & F-85 Ads

For 1970, the big news was the new Cutlass Supreme Coupe, now a special new notchback style which shared the rear third of the car with the convertible. An upscale addition to the line, it joined the four door (which sat on a 116" wheelbase) as the most luxurious of the Cutlasses.

There was a performance option for the Supreme Coupe, called the SX, which was supposed to replace the Turnpike Cruiser option, running a 455 with a 2-barrel. The SX used the 442's rear bumper, but little else. Mid year, the 442's auto trans 455 was offered as an option for the SX, but not the W-25 OAI or the W-30.

Also heralded in the Cutlass line was the Indy Pace Car look-alike option, which could be added to either the Cutlass Supreme or 442 Convertible. CS convertibles ran the 350 cu. in. engine and the 442, of course, had the 455.
