1976 Pontiac Grand Prix Ads

Grand Prix styling joined in the rush to rectangular-shaped headlights. The facelift must have struck a resonant chord with Pontiac purchasers, as GP sales exploded!

1976 was Pontiac's 50th anniversary year. A Grand Prix limited edition model was chosen to lead the division's recognition celebration.

The party costume for the GP included special paint and striping, half-roof landau vinyl top covering, unique hood ornament and body badging, and for the first time on a Pontiac, a Hurst/Hatch T-top roof. The special package cost $550 on the LJ model.

This is the last year for the Pontiac 455 cubic inch V8 in the Grand Prix.

Base Grand Prix production total: 110,814
Grand Prix SJ production total: 88,232
Grand Prix LJ production total: 29,045 - includes 4,807 Golden Anniversary Edition

Pontiac production total: 748,842
