For 1931, Chevrolet introduced a higher, larger radiator. The headlights were now mounted on a bowed tie-bar. The hood sides featured multiple vertical louvers within a raised panel. There were new type panel and body moldings. Wire spoke wheels became standard equipment. Other improvements were Lovejoy shock absorbers, semi-elliptic springs, and a heavier frame. A new ribbed block and crankcase casting were used, and a more rigid crankshaft was fitted along with an improved flywheel. An engine vibration dampener was added. Production for 1931 was 619,554.
