Hurst "Dual Gate" Shifter Ads

Starting in  1962, Hurst offered a unique shifter "Dual Gate Shifter", ostensibly for the Pontiac Grand Prix with a console. The shifter allowed "ratchet" shifting from gear to gear on up and down shifts.

Later, the Dual Gate would be offered for many brands, but it was most popular in GM applications, where it became standard on GTOs with a console and optional for Other Pontiacs. It also was featured on Cutlasses and 442s, starting in 1970. The 1968-1969 Hurst/Olds would use this shifter exclusively.
