Fiat worked hard to break into the US market in the '60s, however, the only vehicle that seemed to catch on was the tiny 550 and 600. It's "cute" styling made it a cult vehicle. Surprisingly the larger sedan never caught on and the 1500 sports car was a bit underpowered. For some reason, the 1500 also received a reputation for unreliability, though it was no more so than any other car in its class. "Fix It Again Tony" hurt the cars' sales in this oversaturated segment.
