1966 Cadillac Ads

In 1966 Cadillac design changes included a more defined mesh for the radiator grille insert, which was also divided by a thick, bright metal horizontal center bar housing rectangular parking lamps at the outer ends. Separate rectangular side marker lamps replaced the integral grille extension designs of 1965. There was generally less chrome on all models. Cadillac crests and V-shaped moldings, front and rear, were key identifiers.

For 1966 variable ratio steering and optional front seats with carbon cloth heating pads built into the cushions and seatbacks were new. Comfort and convenience innovations were headrests, reclining seats and an AM/FM stereo system. Automatic level control was also available. Improvements were made to the perimeter frame to increase ride and handling ease. Other 1966 changes were new piston and oil rings, a new engine mounting system and a special patented quiet exhaust system.

Production increased from 181,435 in 1965 to 197,115.
