1956 Pontiac Ads, Part 1 |
|||||
Pontiac continued with the same basic styling as 1955. Minor trim and bumper changes were the predominant extent of the modifications for '56. While the car may not have been a stylist's dream, the engine department was coming along very nicely with the one-year old motor increased from 287 cubic inches to 316 and now pumping out 227 HP and 312 ft. lbs. of torque. Pontiac was so enamored with their new V8 that they even pushed the power of their engine in station wagon ads! Mid-year, Pontiac got into the racing groove with a 2-four barrel hot cammed 285 HP version.
