1950 Pontiac Chieftain/Chieftain Deluxe/Streamliner Ads

1950 started off good for Pontiac, but the Korean War would soon throw cold water on the post WWII industrial recovery. The war's effect was minimal this year since it began late in the model year (June, 1950). Visual changes from the all-new '49 models were mostly minor trim modifications.

The big news in the marketing department came in the form of a new body style, the 2-door hardtop. This variant was given its own name, the Catalina, and was only available on the Chieftain line.

The straight eight engine was increased in size to 268 cubic inches and the horsepower rose to 108 and 113.
