1939 Buick Ads

All Buicks underwent a full restyling for 1939, with a new two-piece “waterfall” grille with thin vertical bars. The hood was narrower and front door pillars were narrower. Inside, gauges were moved to in front of the driver and the gear shift was moved the column. The Limited, however, due to its "limited" production, continued using its 1938 body.

The Special's wheelbase was reduced by two inches all others remained as in 1938.  Buick Centuries continued to be powered by the 320 CID I8 from the Roadmaster, producing  141 HP, making them the fastest Buicks - capable of sustained speeds of 100 mph, hence the name Century. They were nicknamed. "the banker's hot rod."

Production rose,  with Special delivering 166,349 units, Century selling a healthy 23,430, with Roadmaster also climbing to 6,097, and Limited dropping to 1,451 for a total of 197,327 a 41,330 total increase.
