427 SOHC Ford V8

An 8 Cylinder Orchestra - Larry and Patty Hill's 1961 Ford Starliner 427 SOHC

Seen at the 2017 Ray Evernham's AmeriCaran  Live event

Two of the things one learns when attending car shows of any size is, first there are many interesting stories to be told and second, don't forget to seek out the cars in the back lots. In the case of Ray Evernham's AmeriCarna Live show for IGNITE in November 2017, these factors were never truer!
The "main" lot near the Ingersoll-Rand HQ was full by 8 AM, as usual. So were the VIP lots and the parking areas near the main stage. Following the road down to the "back forty", a series of cool cars were seen. At a bend in the road, a plain looking bright red '61 Ford Starliner sat by the curb. But something seemed unique here. A sleeper? Those tires looked broader and lower profile than stock, despite the steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps! Looking under the open hood at the engine bay and, yes, something was indeed different! There resided a huge Ford 427 SOHC Hemi engine, filling the large space between the wheelwells!
