Danville Hot Summer Night

Danville's 1st Hot Summer Sundays car show July 22, 2018

by No Limits Staff

No Limits has been going to and covering the "Hot Summer Nights" car shows in Danville, CA for several years. The shows were held on Thursday afternoon to evenings in July and August. We really enjoyed this local show and it always drew great cars and crowds. This year the shows shifted from Thursday afternoon/evening to Sunday morning/afternoon. There were many reasons why the switch and all we can say is – Hurray ! Sunday morning/afternoon made for a whole lot more fun and cars.
Another change – for the better – was that for the first time, you could pre-register your car for the show. Pre-registered cars were let in to the main street (Hartz Ave) beginning at 7:00 AM through 8:00 AM. The non-preregistered cars lined up on Danville Blvd, registered and were sent in after the first group. So the "best parking spots" went to the pre-registered cars.  This year, the entry was so large that cars filled Hartz Ave and all the side streets. Needless to say, this was a car lover's dream show !

1947 Jeep

A Roadside Attraction - Bob & Donna Pleva's'1947 CJ2A Jeep

by Society Staff

No Limits sees lots of very cool cars and trucks at the shows we cover. Every now and then, something just jumps out at us as the perfect combination of car/color and chrome. Such was the 1947 CJ2A Jeep of Bob & Donna Pleva.
A bit of history here --- the original "Jeep" was an icon of WWII as the work horse utility vehicle for our armed forces. This incredible 4 wheel drive (technically a) truck was admired by all who came in contact with them. After the war, Willys – Overland Motors  began to manufacture "civilian" versions of this classic designated by the letters "CJ" for "Civilian Jeep". Through the decades following that war, the CJ Jeep has been manufactured by several different companies though 10 different CJ versions. Bob and Donna have one of the original post-war CJ's. And here's its story.
Bob & Donna found this Jeep 20 years ago for sale by the side of the road near the northern California town of Lockeford.( near Lodi) They bought it on the spot, hauled it home and eventually embarked on a full frame-off restoration of this old warrior . . .

Mr. Gasket MLS Header Gaskets For 5.0L Coyotes & Intake Gaskets For Small Block Fords
Ford 5.0 Coyote Gaskets

Holley/MSD is pleased to announce the expansion of two of Mr. Gasket's most popular lines - Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Header Gaskets and Intake Manifold Gaskets, both for Ford applications.

Developed specifically for 2010 and newer 5.0L Coyote engines, the three-layer MLS exhaust gaskets are made of stainless steel, .072-inch thick, and a perfect fit for 1-7/8" round-port cylinder heads. They're built to withstand the extreme cylinder pressure produced by high-horsepower, high-compression turbocharged, blown, and nitrous engines. Stress-formed inner- and outer-layer embossments rebound under exhaust-flange clamp load, creating extra sealing force and maximum fastener-torque retention.

Mr. Gasket's newest Ultra-Seal Intake Manifold Gasket Set is perfect for Ford small blocks, including 260s, 289s, 302s, and 351 Windsors. Ideal for use with Holley Hi-Ram manifolds and compatible with Ford 260-351W, TFS, GT-40, and "N" cylinder heads, they're .093-inch thick and fit 1.40-inch x 2.25-inch intake ports.
